by Ostracism Awareness
“Recovering from severe ostracism can be a challenge, because it affects a person on so many different levels. It impairs four basic human needs: belonging, control, self-esteem, and meaningful existence. It dramatically raises anxiety levels and causes depression and despondency. Physical pain often accompanies severe ostracism, since the part of the brain handling pain management is activated. When prolonged, ostracism causes many people to withdraw from social connection and activities that they previously enjoyed…Occasionally, some ostracized people will act out in inappropriate ways to try to get those ostracizing them to notice them in any way they can, since even negative attention feels better than no attention. In the most extreme cases ostracism can lead to violence or suicide.”

“Concerted efforts at influence and control lie at the core of cultic groups, programs, and relationships. Many members, former members, and supporters of cults are not fully aware of the extent to which members may be manipulated, exploited, or even abused. The following list of social-structural, social-psychological, and interpersonal behavioral patterns commonly found in cultic environments may help you assess a particular group or relationship…”

“The ‘unfriending’ phenomenon (when you delete, block, or unfollow someone on social media) is being studied by increasing numbers of psychologists. Why are they studying it? Because social media platforms don’t just mimic social phenomena around us, they’re also changing the way we interact with each other.”

“We think therapist Roseanne Henry said it best when she wrote on her website Cult Recover: ‘When ex-members had been polled (at ICSA Recovery Workshops) they consistently gave these reasons for joining their groups: Idealism, Friendship, Love, Freedom, Community, Mission, Sincerity, Salvation, Enlightenment, Spiritual high.
People don’t join cults. They get involved in groups they are led to believe represent these high ideals.'”
by American Baptist Churches USA
“American Baptists, Southern Baptists and all the scores of other Baptist bodies in the U.S. and around the world grew out of a common tradition begun in the early 17th century. That tradition has emphasized the Lordship and atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, believers’ baptism, the competency of all believers to be in direct relationship with God and to interpret Scripture, the influence of the Holy Spirit on individual lives and ministries, and the need for autonomous congregations free from government interference or hierarchical polity.
The origins of Baptist thought and practice can be seen in the late 16th century in English Congregationalism, which rejected the prevalent ‘parish’ structure of church life (Church of England) where everyone in a given community was a member of a neighborhood parish and where children were baptized.”

“There is nothing special about me. I just love Him, and I am committed to Him. As He continued over the years to give me visions and prophecies and reveal future events to me, I began to create websites revealing the information I learned through Him and from His leading. Today I have 12 websites on the Internet, and a blogger and as the days come to a close I am busy fulfilling my calling and destiny in Him. I have worked hard building and maintaining websites over the years to educate and inform His people to what has gone on, is going on, or what is coming, and I won’t stop until He says it is time to. And as my enemies can attest, I can not be intimidated either. I have received several death threats over the years and have posted some of them on my websites out of amusement. Mostly, I ignore them. I do not fear Lucifer, and certainly, I do not fear man. The Lord is my strength.”

“Some Christians believe that all believers will suddenly be removed from the earth and will join God in heaven along with all Christians who have died. At that moment, Jesus will return to take control of the earth and will reign for 1,000 years.
Others interpret the reference to a period of 1,000 years differently – seeing this as a time of just and peaceful leadership of the world by the Christian church which will be followed by an apocalypse of violent evil.
A third view is that the symbolic events set out in Revelation do not foresee specific events. Instead, the return of Jesus will coincide with the end of human life on earth as we know it now and the beginning of an eternity of love, joy and peace in the new heavens and the new earth with God.”

“Does the prophet Joel warn us of a coming alien invasion?
If you read the chapters of Joel 2 and Revelation 9 a picture begins to develop. Not the one so-called prophecy gurus sell you, but a picture of what it actually means and says.”
by James Tabor, PBS Frontline
“If you open the Book of Revelation and simply begin reading it as an unfolding scenario, it goes something like this. There will be wars and famines and disease epidemics and heavenly signs that will alert the world to some sort of crisis. Then will come an Antichrist as he’s called, or a political ruler, that will establish control over the whole earth. He’ll be backed up with a religious ruler, who’s called the false prophet. They together establish a unified social, economic and religious system that dominates the world. The only thing opposing them are the people of God and these two prophets, they’re called the two witnesses, who appear in Jerusalem, and begin to speak against this power. The rest of the book, really the last half of the book is about the overthrow of this system…”

“Therefore, the name YAHUSHUA can be understood as YAH, which is the shortened name of the Father, HU (in the Hebrew (הוא)), which means ‘he’, and finally ‘shua’, which means makes level or equal. Therefore, YAHUSHUA means in this analysis, YAH is He who makes equal. “

“In order to talk about the specific type of purpose I alluded to in the intro, we will need to refine the concept. But before we can refine the concept, we need to figure out the role of purpose in one’s life. This means defining the purpose of life-purpose.
In other words, the purpose of life-purpose can be called the end-goal of life-end-goals, the end of all other ends, or the ultimate end. In regular English, this simply translates to the question: why do we do what we do?”
